Daren S. McLaughlin, age 56 of Lapeer, died Monday, March 20, 2022, at his Lapeer residence.
Daren was born, December 15,1965 in Detroit Michigan, to Dale A. and Lois A. (nee: Stevens) McLaughlin. Daren served in the U.S. Air Force from 1985 to 1989. Daren and his wife Rhonda (nee: Schwartz) were married September 5, 1987 at St. Anne Catholic Church, in Ortonville. Family members said Daren loved woodworking, listening to music, being outdoors, and cheering on his beloved Spartans.
He is survived by his loving wife Rhonda, his dear children; Devon (Evan) Weinmann, Delaney (Harrison) Andrezik, and Donovan McLaughlin. He was a devoted Papa to Kenzie, Preston, and Aubrey Weinmann. Additional survivors include his father Dale (Darlene) McLaughlin, a brother Darby (Kristi) McLaughlin, and a sister Debra (Jordan) Gerwolds. Daren is also survived by his father-in-law Ron Schwartz. He was pre-deceased by his mother Lois A. McLaughlin and mother-in-law Jacqueline Schwartz.
Visitation for Mr. McLaughlin take place on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, March 25, 2022 from 2-8 p.m. at Village Funeral Home 135 South Street, Ortonville. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anne Catholic Church 825 S. Ortonville Rd., Ortonville. Fr. Craig Marion, Celebrant.The family will receive friends one hour prior to mass at the church. Committal rites with Air Force honors are scheduled for Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.
