SHORT, DAVID JOSEPH of Goodrich; died September 23, 2016.  He was 66. Born January 6, 1950 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Adren and Mary (nee: Fleet) Short. He married Pamela McCain on July 20, 2012 in Lapeer, Michigan.  He is survived by his wife, Pamela Short; mother, Mary Hickey; four children, Eric (Robin) Short, Kristen Rasegan, George Ranney II and Michelle Ranney; three grandchildren, Claire and Katie Short and Robert Rasegan; also survived by his former son-in-law, Kirk Rasegan. David owned and operated Mid-State Construction and Unique Rock & Boulder.  Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at VILLAGE FUNERAL HOME-ORTONVILLE.  Pastor Jim Combs, officiating.  Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Interment with military honors will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016.  Memorial contributions may be made to the VA Hospital.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent to www.villagefh.com
