Eric Peart of Davisburg, 18, recently earned the Eagle Scout Award, the highest award in Boy Scouts.
Peart, son of William and Janet Peart of Davisburg, was honored, May 24, at his Court of Honor ceremony at United Methodist Church of Davisburg.
Peart, who led a crew painting the parsonage at the Springfield Township church, joined Cub Scout Pack 192 in2002 at age 8, and earned its highest award, the Arrow of Light.
He attended Summer Camp at Lost Lake and Camp Tapico Summer Camps and backpacked at North Manitou Island. Peart also completed the Chief Pontiac Trail in winter and summer with the Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow Honorary Society.
Peart was a brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow and served as part of its competitive and ceremonial dance team.
He served Troop 192 as patrol leader, assistant patrol leader and senior patrol leader. Troop 192 is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Davisburg.
He gradutated from Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep School, third in his class with an A average. He is a member of the National Honor Society and was active in football and rowing. A member of the United Methodist Church of Davisburg, Peart assisted with the Children’s Programs, is a member of the youth group and serves on the Pastor Parish Committee.
Congressman Mike Rogers nominated Peart to the United States Naval Academy, which was accepted.
