DDA hires interim director

Until it can hire a permanent one, the Oxford Downtown Development Authority board retained the services of an interim director Monday night.
Madonna Van Fossen, a 23-year resident of Lake Orion, started handling the DDA’s day-to-day affairs on Tuesday.
She will work five days a week for five hours each day and be paid $25 per hour.
Van Fossen has management, marketing and consulting experience in the private sector. She’s held leadership positions in several area chambers of commerce.
‘I interact very easily with all kinds, from heads of corporations, to investors, individual business owners and everyday people who live in our neighborhood,? she wrote in her letter to DDA Chairman Mark Young.
The DDA hopes to hire a permanent director within 90 days to replace former Director Carolyn Bennett, who resigned in June.
Young said about 15 or 16 candidates have already applied for the job including Van Fossen.
The DDA is still accepting resumes. Applicants can forward them to the Oxford DDA, 22 W. Burdick St., Oxford, MI 48371. Attention Chairman Mark Young.
