Deadline for McLaren

On June 29, the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) sent a proposed letter of intent to deny in response to the Certificate of Need (CON) application submitted in February for a McLaren hospital in Independence Township.
McLaren has 15 days to file an appeal; otherwise, the MDCH will send a formal letter of denial. During a Planning Commission meeting on June 14, McLaren Health Care Senior Vice President Gregory Lane said if the CON was denied, they would appeal.
If McLaren appeals the MDCH’s decision, their CON will go before an administrative law judge. To view the McLaren hospital site plans visit www.twp.independence.mi.us.
