Two Oakland County Sheriff deputies and Independence Township firefighters revived a Clarkston man after an apparent heroin overdose around midnight on Feb. 9 on Wellesley Terrace.
Deputy Tony Allen performed rescue breathing on the 37-year-old victim who collapsed in his bathroom, until the fire department arrived. Deputy Jim Bowie monitored his pulse.
The members of the fire department were able to revive the man with an injection. The man was then transported to POH. Reports stated that once awake, the man admitted to using heroin.
‘It was an outstanding effort,? said Lt. Dale LaBair of the Independence Township substation. ‘The guy came back around and anytime you can do that it’s a good thing.?
According to reports, the man returned home around 11:30 p.m. with fast food. He ate, then went in the bathroom. His father, who was at the house, heard his son collapse and forced open the locked bathroom door.
Police found evidence of heroin use in the bathroom.
