A deputy from the Orion Substation of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department was injured late Monday morning when a vehicle rear ended his patrol unit on the I-75 shoulder.
According to an OCSD report, the deputy received minor injuries and was taken to the Oxford Medical Clinic, where he was treated and released.
The deputy was in the process of issuing a traffic violation on the south bound shoulder when the accident occurred.
The driver of the car that hit his patrol unit was a 70-year-old woman from Hazel Park.
Both vehicles involved sustained minor damage.
