The Oxford School District will have to wait a little longer to see if it’s bid for the ReImagine Grant was accepted by the State of Michigan.
According to Superintendent Dr. William Skilling, the decision was supposed to be announced Sept. 14, but the overwhelming number of applicants delayed the selection process. The grant winner will be announced sometime this fall.
In August, the district submitted an application for the $9.6 million grant which would provide the necessary funding to help launch many new programs.
As reported in the August 26 issue, the ReImagine Grant is an initiative from the Michigan Department of Education that challenges the educational community to boldly and dramatically reimagine their systems to ensure all students learn and achieve at high levels.
