Driver drags, strikes woman with vehicle

Brandon Twp.- A 34-year-old woman was injured this week after being dragged and then struck by a vehicle driven by her husband.
According to an Oakland County Sheriff’s Office report, Brandon deputies responded at about 2:03 a.m., Sept. 28, to a mobile home in the 3800 block of Redbud Lane for a felonious assault with a motor vehicle.
The victim stated her husband, 33, was intoxicated and left their residence with her vehicle. She followed her husband and discovered him in her vehicle with another female subject. The complainant said she reached into the vehicle to remove the keys, fearing her husband had been drinking. He then drove away, dragging the victim for approximately 30 feet before he pushed her onto the ground, causing her to be struck by the vehicle. He then left the area.
The victim was transported to the hospital for medical treatment of minor abrasions to her hands, arms, and knees. A short time later, a deputy observed the responsible vehicle in the area, unoccupied. Following a short search, the suspect was found near the original address and taken into custody.
He was lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending issuance of domestic violence warrants.
