Stewart-Douglas
Gary Douglas and Midge (Mary Jane) Stewart are happy to announce their engagement.
Gary and Midge were the best of friends at Birmingham Groves High School. After a 34-year absence they reconnected and the rest is history. Midge is the owner of Maple Lane Kennels and Gary is a network engineer. They reside in the area and love renovating their 130-year-old home.
A wedding date has not been set.

David and Sharon Van Dis of Ortonville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katrina Genevieve Kerpan, to Michael Christopher Scully, son of Robert and Bonnie Scully of Grafton, Mass.
The bride-to-be is a 2004 Brandon High School graduate and is pursuing a career in event planning in the Boston area.
The groom-to-be is a 1996 graduate of Holy Name High School in Worcester, Mass. and is employed as a director of operations for Appfire Technologies in Burlington, Mass.
A July wedding is planned in Massachusetts.

The bride-to-be will graduate from Liberty University this spring and graduated from high school at Terra Ciea Christian School.
The groom-to-be is a 2004 Brandon High School graduate and graduated from Ferris State University in 2008. He is currently employed as a racquets professional at Wilmington Country Club in Wilmington, Del.
A spring wedding is planned at Elizabethan Gardens, Manteo, N.C. The couple will reside in Wilmington, Del.

William and Carol Millar of Ortonville are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Aaron Jonathan, to Rhonda Leigh, daughter of Roland and Frances Moody of Florida.
The bride-to-be graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2000 with a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design.
The groom-to-be is a 1996 Brandon High School graduate and received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Central Michigan University in 2000.

Steve and Wendy Teare of Georgia, formerly of Ortonville, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Marie Teare, to Joseph Mauro of Falls Church, Va., son of Louis Mauro of Falls Church and Debra Christiansen of Berkley, Calif.
Shannon and Joe met as students at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. The bride-to-be is a French teacher in Chelsea, Mich. and the groom-to-be is a fourth year law student at the University of Michigan.
A May wedding is planned.

Ann and James Schumacher of Goodrich are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Michael Schumacher, to Cameron Fondaw, daughter of Cathy and Robert Fondaw of Livonia.
Michael is a 2000 graduate of Goodrich High School, a 2005 graduate of Michigan State University and is a professional engineer for WadeTrim, Inc. in Flint.
Cameron is a 2002 graduate of Livonia Stevenson High School, a 2008 graduate of Walsh College and is a senior member relations representative for DFCU Financial in Livonia.

Sybil and Robert Kuffa of Ortonville are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Matthew Kuffa, to Michelle Blaschek, daughter of Linda and Hans Blaschek of Champaign, Ill.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of the University of Illinois and received her masters degree in animal science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009. She is employed as an enzyme laboratory analyst at Genencor International in Beloit, Wis.
The groom-to-be is a graduate of the University of Illinois and received his masters degree in food science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006. He is employed as a food scientist at Kerry Ingredients and Flavours in Beloit, Wis.

Wilson-Hawkins
Christine Wilson and Cody Hawkins are pleased to announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Connie Delaney of Waterford and Robert Wilson of Clarkston. She is a 2003 graduate of Goodrich High School and is completing her doctorate degree in physical therapy at Central Michigan University.
The groom-to-be is the son of Diane and Gary Hawkins of Goodrich. He is a 2003 graduate of Goodrich High School and received his master’s degree in administration/health services/exercise physiology from Central Michigan University.

Green-Hamilton
Kim and Larry Vigneau, along with Craig and Diane Green, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Chelsea Green, to Richard Hamilton, son of Mark Hamilton of Rochester.
The bride-to-be is a 2006 Brandon High School graduate and is attending Oakland Community College, pursuing an associate’s degree in criminal justice. The groom-to-be is also a student at Oakland Community College, planning a career in sports medicine.

Carol Hassler, of Lake Orion, is proud to announce the engagement of her son, Dr. Brian Hassler, to Kaya Stone, daughter of Walter and April Stone, of Boulder, CO.
Brian is a 1997 graduate of Lake Orion High School. He received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan Tech and his PhD from Michigan State. He presently resides in Colorado, and works for the University of Colorado in chemical engineering research.
Kaya graduated from Boulder High School in 1996. She graduated from Colorado State receiving her bachelor’s degree in pre-veterinary studies, equine science. She furthered her studies at the University of Alabama, Huntsville.
An August 2010 wedding is planned in Westminster, CO.

Stamatios and Sofia Papakonstantinou, of Lake Orion, are proud to announce the engagement of their son, Michael Steven Papakonstantinou, to Antonia Ioannou Zitros, daughter of Ioannis and Christina Zitros, of Canton, MI.
Michael is a graduate of Lake Orion High School, class of 1999. He attended Wayne State University and received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration.
Antonia is a graduate of Plymouth High School, class of 2006.

Phil and Liz Dehn, of Lake Orion, announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Dehn, to Randy Troupe, son of Ron and Renee Troupe, of Hudsonville. The wedding is planned for March 2010 at Wellspring Community Church, where the couple met.
Katie is a 2006 graduate from Grand Valley State University and is a video editor for The C2 Group in Grandville. Randy is a 1996 graduate of Unity Christian High School in Hudsonville and is currently working for Attwood Marine in Lowell.

The bride-to-be is a 1999 graduate of Lake Orion High School and a graduate of Michigan State University. She is currently employed with Brogan and Partners Convergence Marketing in Birmingham and works as the account supervisor of their healthcare division.
The prospective groom is a 1999 graduate of Lumen Christi Catholic High School and a graduate of Kettering University, with a master’s degree from Purdue University. He is currently employed with Chrysler Corporation in Auburn Hills as an engineer.
The wedding will take place February 2010 at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit.

James and Shirley Ziegler, of Lake Orion, announce the engagement of their son Bradley James Ziegler to Heather Anne Krepp, the daughter of John and Renate Krepp, of Oxford.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Lake Orion High School and a graduate of Baker College with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. He is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and is beginning a new journey in the Air National Guard.
The bride to be is a 2004 graduate of MacArthur High School and will graduate from Oakland University in 2011 with a degree in elementary education. She is a member of Phi Sigma Sigma.
A wedding is planned for August 2010.

Danny and Susan Francis of Lake Orion are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elise Danielle Francis, to Grant Michael Fodor, son of Suzanne Fodor and Kim Fodor, of Lake Orion.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Oakland University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She is currently working as a registered nurse at Beaumont Hospital.
The groom-to-be is a graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a major in finance and a minor in economics. Grant currently works as a financial advisor for Edward Jones and will soon open an office in Lake Orion.
Grant and Elise are high school sweethearts, both graduating from Lake Orion High School in 2003. The couple plan to marry September 2010.

John and Lurene Fisher of Lake Orion announce the engagement of their daughter, Chelsea Lurene Fisher to JT Schutz. JT is the son of Jeff and Michelle Schutz of Imlay City.
Chelsea and JT met singing karaoke in December of 2007. Chelsea graduated from Oakland University and JT from the University of Michigan- Flint.
Chelsea is currently working at the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce in downtown Flint. JT will be joining Chelsea in the downtown area in January of 2010 when he begins working at Plante Moran. JT continues managing his family’s business, Schutz Tree Farm.
The couple will marry in August 2010.

Michael and Michelle Lambie, of Lake Orion, announce the engagement of their daughter, Meghan, to Bradley Sawdon.
Brad is the son of Craig and MaryBeth Sawdon of Rochester Hills.
Meghan and Brad met while both attending Grand Valley State University. Meghan graduated in December 2006 with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management and is now working for Pomegranate Studios/ArtPrize in Grand Rapids.
Brad graduated in April 2007 with a double major in Finance and Accounting, and in April 2009 with a Master of Business Administration degree. He is now pursuing his law degree at Univeristy of Pittsburgh.
An October 2009 wedding is planned.

Timothy and Karen Clouse of Lake Orion announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Emily Clouse to Daniel Allen VanDenBos. Danny is the son of Russell and Marilyn VanDenBos of Plainwell, MI. Jessica and Danny met on the campus of Michigan State University and are 2008 graduates – Jessica from James Madison College and Danny from Eli Broad School of Business. Danny is currently working for Dell in Austin, TX. Jessica will join Danny in TX after their wedding to begin graduate school at the University of Texas and her career in public service. They will be married on the campus of MSU in August 2010.

Joe and Pam Marchand, of Lake Orion, announce the engagement of their son, Craig, to Tara Passmore, of Clarkston.
Tara is the daughter of Beth (Ronk) Passmore and Kirk and Nancy (Riddle) Passmore, all of Clarkston. The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Clarkston High School and a 2009 graduate of Eastern Michigan University. She is a special education teacher at Clarkston High School.
The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Clarkston High School and a 2004 graduate of Kettering University. An Eagle Scout and Theta Xi Fraternity member, he is a mechanical engineer with General Motors Proving Ground in Milford.
The couple will wed in December.

Shirley DeGeorge and Ron Cifolelli of Lake Orion are proud to announce the engagement of Shirley’s son, Peter DeGeorge to Renee Heinz, daughter of Jurgen and Carol Heinz of Shelby Township.
Their wedding is planned for August at Greystone Country Club in Washington, Michigan.
Peter is set to finish school at Oakland Community College specializing in computer support engineering technology and become a certified professional by Cisco and Microsoft. He is currently employed with Verizon Wireless.
Renee is a 2008 graduate from Central Michigan University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is currently a substitute teacher in both Oakland and Macomb.

Sandy and Jim Averill of Lake Orion are excited to announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany, to Nathan Kalso, son of Patty and Rick Kalso, of Lake Orion.
Brittany will graduate this year from Oakland University with a degree in sociology and criminal justice. She is employed at Oakland County Children’s Village where she is a youth specialist.
Nathan graduated from Western Michigan University in 2004 with a degree in Marketing and Business Administration. He is employed at DSSI.
The couple resides in Madison Heights and enjoys running and competing in triathlons together.

The couple met here at the University of Michigan, and they participated in the recent commencement exercises, where Jane received her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies and Cameron received his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. The couple will be married June 6, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor.

James and Barbara Miriani of Oakland Township are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison, to Matthew McLeod, son of Dean and Carol McLeod, of Livonia.
Allison is a 1999 graduate of Lake Orion High School. She graduated from Michigan State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. She is currently the news editor of the Steamboat Pilot & Today newspaper in Steamboat Springs, CO. She is also the co-editor of At Home in Steamboat Springs magazine.
Matt is a 1999 graduate of Livonia Stevenson High School. He graduated from Michigan State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering.
Allison and Matt reside in Steamboat Springs where their April 2009 wedding will take place at Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of North Georgia College & State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in marketing. She currently works in the franchise sales department of Intercontinental Hotels Group in Atlanta.

The groom-to-be is a 1989 graduate of Hartland High School and 2004 graduate of Oakland University. He is a veteran of the 101st Airborne Division and employed by the state of Colorado.
The couple have an 18-month-old son, Jacob, together. A July wedding is planned in Colorado.

The groom-to-be is a resident of Grand Blanc and the son of Joseph Charles and Lori Janean Schaffer of Oxford. He is employed by Borg Warner and will graduate in May from Oakland University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is a member of Seymour Lake United Methodist Church in Ortonville.
The bride-to-be is a resident of Davison and the daughter of John and Karen Cowan of Davision. She is employed by Hurley Hospital in Flint and will graduate with a nursing degree this fall from the University of Michigan-Flint. She is a member of St. John Catholic Church in Davison.

Justin John Borst and Leah Catherine Soubly of Mansfield, Ohio announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of James and Margaret Soubly of Highland. She graduated from Milford High School in 2001 and obtained her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Western Michigan University in 2006. She is currently employed as a staff reporter at the Shelby Daily Globe in Shelby, Ohio.
The groom-to-be is the son of Dianne Teregan of Clarkston and Craig and Toni Borst of Berkley. He graduated from Brandon High School in 2001 and received his bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from Western Michigan University. He is currently employed as a route manager for Ecolab in Mansfield, Ohio.
