Riders finished their season in second at the district meet.
“The performances were great,” said Coach Tim Pobuda. “The team had worked hard all summer. They had great support from their families and equestrian team supporter at the meets.”
After three meets the Clarkston High School Equestrian missed first place by 19 points.
“It was a very close score,” said Pobuda. “These are totally judged classes the girls were in and we came up a little bit short in a very close competion.”
Co-Captains Emily Pobuda and Riana Leek led the team. Emily finished with three first place and six second place finishes, while Leek finished with one first place and six second place finishes.
Sophomore Emma Johnson finished with two first places and four second place finishes while senior Denise Garbe rode to two first place finishes.
All three freshmen riders, Becka Leek, Rachel Vieira and Sarah Pobuda also made contributions to the team and improved their point total from meet to meet.
“The girls really supported each other and conducted themselves in a manner representative of Clarkston with excellent sportsmanship at every competition. I am very proud of them” said Pobuda.
The team is participating in the annual Clarkston Christmas Parade.
