Event offers taste of LO history

The Orion Art Center will host a wine tasting on Saturday, Sep. 8 at the home of Jim and Lisa Cummins at 220 S. Andrews Street (right) in downtown Lake Orion.
The wine tasting will commence at 4 p.m. and last until 6 p.m. A historic boat tour (with limited seating) will follow at 7 p.m., and will offer some history of Lake Orion.
‘Our home and its surroundings have a lot of Orion history, so we are happy to help the art center and share our lakefront home at the same time,? said Lisa Cummins.
This is an opportunity to get one last lake and boating day in, before the lake is lowered for the season.
The event is a fundraiser for the art center. Proceeds will serve as matching funds for a community service grant provided by the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs.
Tickets for the wine tasting are $35 per person, with an additional charge of $15 for the boat tour. A variety of wines, along with some light fare for the event will be provided by Victoria’s Delights Bistro of Oxford.
