The Habitat for Humanity committee at Christ the Redeemer Church is hosting ‘Raise a Glass to Raise a Roof? on Saturday, April 21.
The committee is building a Habitat home this summer in Pontiac as part of The North Oakland Circle of Faith (NOCOF).
The NOCOF was founded three years ago as the result of two church coalitions merging together. The coalition consists of Lutheran, Presbyterian, Non Denominational, Methodist, and Catholic Churches in Ortonville, Waterford, Lake Orion, Oxford, and Clarkston. To date, eleven churches have joined the coalition for 2007.
The current price of a 1,200-square-foot, three-bedroom Habitat home is $75,000.
In order to raise their pledge, Christ the Redeemer will be hosting an appetizer/wine/beer/dessert/silent auction fundraiser on April 21 from 7:30-10 p.m.
The event will be held at the church, which is located at 2700 Waldon Road.
The following restaurants from Lake Orion and Oxford are donating hors d’oeuvres for the event: Castle Grille, Wooden Eagle, Carrie Lee’s, Casa Real, A Moveable Feast, a personal chef service, and Achatz Handmade Pies Co. Live music will be performed by pianist, Kurt Kunzat and Rep. Jim Marleau will emcee the event.
The silent auction will feature two sets of two playoff tickets to see the Pistons (donated by Powers Distributing), a suite at the Palace of Auburn Hills to see the Pistons in 2007-08 (donated by the Palace), and many other fabulous items.
The event is being sponsored by Palace Chrysler Jeep, General Wine and Liquor, North Star Financial Partners, and Hubert Distributing.
The event is open to the public. If you would like to purchase tickets please call (248)391-1621, ext. 17. Ticket price is $25.
