Two Oxford teens traveling west on Seymour Lake Rd. Sunday picked up an unexpected passenger – a fawn.
The two 17-year-olds were just east of Baldwin Rd. when a fawn attempting to cross Seymour Lake Rd. ran straight into the open passenger side window of their 1995 Saturn.
“The deer hit them. They didn’t hit the deer,” said the mother of the driver.
The fawn broke off the passenger side mirror, causing it to crash through the front windshield, according to the mother.
The incident caused minor injuries to both the driver and passenger, who were transported to POH in Pontiac where they were treated for bruises and cuts.
The fawn died as a result of the impact, according to sheriff’s deputies.
