An Oakland County Sheriff’s Department deputy was conducting a routine traffic stop on Joslyn last Tuesday, or so he thought.
According to the OCSD report, the driver, a 36-year-old Orion man, gave the officer several false names. The deputy caught on and started a more detailed investigation.
During the course of the investigation, the driver fled from his vehicle on foot toward the Judah Road area.
During the foot chase, the deputy deployed his taser. The suspect removed the taser barbs from his body and then began struggling with the deputy.
Eventually, the suspect driver was placed into custody and handcuffed. The deputy received some minor injuries to his hand during the altercation.
The suspect was lodged at the main jail facility on numerous outstanding warrants and other changes ranging from operating a vehicle while intoxicated to resisting and obstructing police.
