Democratic candidate Jim Marcinkowski was the beneficiary of some high-level support this week when former ambassador to Iraq, Joe Wilson, showed up on his behalf at the Poppyseed Deli in Lake Orion.
Wilson was at the center of a controversy that involved allegations that top White House officials leaked the name of his wife as a CIA agent after he criticized the Bush Adminstration’s handling of the Iraq War.
Wilson, who met Marcinkowski many years ago when both attended FBI school, called Tuesday’s elections the most important in recent U.S. political history.
