Goodrich — In a battle of two of the Division 2 top girls basketball teams in the state, the Frankenmuth Eagles held the Goodrich Martians to just two points in the fourth quarter, en route to a 45-39, non-conference game on Feb. 11 at Goodrich.
GHS Jr. Kayla Hairston led the Lady Martians with 10 points, GHS #1 Sr. Ella Place had nine while GHS Jr. #0 Tanner Schramm chipped in seven points.
“Thought we played well versus a tough opponent but they made some big plays down the stretch,” said Head Coach Jason Gray. “We struggled to put the ball in the basket in the fourth quarter. We were looking forward to a competitive game and were happy to have gotten one which will help us prepare for the end of the season and the post season.”
