~~~Orion Township won’t be paying half the costs of chloriding for 28 roads after this year because officials learned it isn’t allowed under state law.

~~~A $3.9 million plan to widen M-24 in Lake Orion was approved Wednesday by Michigan’s Highway and Transportation Department.
~~~The officer in charge of Lake Orion’s Post Office said mail delivery could be stopped to roads in the Bunny Run area within 30 days unless road repairs are made.
~~~Mick Steiner, spokesperson for an organization attempting to recall State Senator Philip Mastin, announced the necessary 19,927 signatures have been obtained to place the recall question before district voters.

~~~Orion Township trustees approved purchasing 18.96 acres of land on Joslyn Road from Otis Case for $3,000 per acre.
~~~Ora Foster of Buckhorn told of a hitchhiking incident while he was stationed in England in 1942. He said he was standing along the road when a big black limousine stopped in front of him. Queen Mother Mary of England offered him a ride.
