Similar acts leave two cars damaged
Independence Township- In the night of Sept. 17 or early morning of Sept. 18, similar tactics on neighboring streets destroyed two cars.
On Heath, a 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo was smashed in the rear-window, windshield and rear driver’s window with what appeared to be a pipe or a baseball bat.
The culprit broke nearly half of the rear window and the windshield was badly damaged, according to police photos.
Similarly on Williamson Street, a 2000 Mercury Sable was destroyed with what appeared to be a similar object in a similar fashion.
The car’s windshield was broken and nearly the entire rear window was broken out.
Bad check passed
Springfield Township- A fraudulent check was passed at a business on Dixie Highway on Sept. 17 in the amount of $363.88, drawn on a National City Bank account. Police said there are more of this type and to be aware of the situation. Contact the Springfield Township station of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department at 248-625-8531 for more information.

Station robbed
Independence Township- Shortly after 9 p.m. on Sept. 23, the Clarkston Shell at 7251 Main Street was robbed by a suspect with a knife. Police reports say the clerk, who was forced to the register, saw the suspect was wearing blue jeans, a gray t-shirt and white tennis shoes. The suspect wore a nylon stocking over their face and proceeded to flee the area headed toward Bluegrass Street.
