Frozen Chosin never forgotten

Dear Editor,
(In response to: ‘Area Marine recalls brutal Korean battle at Chosin Reservoir,? The Citizen, Oct. 10, page 3.) Enjoyed your article on Mr. Morris and his experience at the ‘Frozen Chosin.?
We have never met, but he may have met my late husband, Norman Zuck (Pletz after adoption). Norm was at the Chosin in 1950 at age 18 after his Reservist unit was activated while he was still in high school in Detroit. I believe he was the only survivor of his unit, which I think was the 1st Marines. Will have to look that up. For two of the Chosin Few to end up in Ortonville is amazing. He would have loved talking with George.
Chosin was a campaign, Police Action, that most folks today never heard of. Many of our young men perished there and suffered a lot, and very few citizens realize it ever happened.
Most of the kids today have no idea what their parents/grandparents endured to preserve our safety and freedom.
