Independence Township Parks and Recreation hosts the annual Family Fun Night celebration, 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Deer Lake Beach, 350 White Lake Road.
The celebration for the whole family includes games and prizes, entertainment, food, face painting, crafts, and sand castle contest. This year’s theme is Safari Jungle ? attendees dress in animal print or safari gear. Best dressed receive prizes in a costume contest.

Each year, we have hundreds of people come down to Deer Lake Beach for this event because we have something for everyone. The costume contest, the fun games, and the delicious food are always the highlights of this exciting evening.?
