Clarkston Elementary students enjoyed a warm, sunny October day for their Fun Run Friday.
The school Parent Teacher Organization’s biggest fund raiser of the year, students take pledges from family, friends, and neighbors, then run as many laps up and down the field as they can in 20 minutes.
‘It pays for all the field trips for the whole year,? said Angie Scheu, co-chair with Tracy Irwin.
It also funds educational presentations, assemblies, and events, Scheu said.
‘The kids love it. They get really excited,? she said. ‘The great thing is they don’t have to sell stuff ? they’re doing something to earn the money, not just asking for it or selling.?
