Goodrich- A fund has been established for a couple whose unborn son died after wreckage from a car crash forced him from the womb of his 8-months pregnant mother.
Barbara Morea, a Goodrich resident, has opened an account at the Davison State Bank for Angella Reynolds, formerly of Goodrich, and Brian Taylor.
Reynolds remains in critical condition at Hurley Hospital in Flint in a medically-induced coma following the Sept. 21 crash that sliced off the top of her uterus. Taylor, Reynolds? boyfriend and father of their son, Logan Troy Taylor, was released from the hospital with a broken nose and his left arm broken in nine places, said Morea.
‘We have opened an account called the Angella and Brian Fund, to pay expenses that the insurance company does not pick up,? she said. ‘They pick up most of the medical, but when she comes out of the coma and goes to the rehab facility, there will be certain things they don’t cover.?
Travis J. Davis, 18, of Vassar, has been charged with drunken driving causing death to a fetus after his vehicle struck the passenger side of the vehicle driven by Taylor, 23, also a Vassar resident.
Reynolds, 21, was born and raised in Goodrich, Morea said. The family moved from Goodrich to Davison when Reynolds was in middle school. Now a Grand Blanc resident, Reynolds has been studying nursing at Mott Community College. Taylor works for Charter Communications, but is off work as a result of the accident, Morea said.
‘We know there will be things she needs help with because she is a student and not working, and also because Brian will be off work for some time,? she said. ‘If you’re going to drink, don’t drive, and if you’re having a party with minors, make sure they don’t drink and then drive.?
