Girls? Lacrosse

The Girls? Varsity Lacrosse team played May 18 against Grosse Point North, and fell, 10-3. Notably performances include goalie Tiffany Smrtnik who saved eight goals. Seniors Jordan Hill, Sydney Bryce, Ashley Dakki, and Rachel Cohen kept pressure on their opponents while Paige Hammerl scored twice. Following her was Carly Brooks who tacked on the third goal. Sophomore Beth Giguere had one assist.
The Varsity Dragons played again on May 21 against Salem High School, winning, 18-6 and finishing their normal season 9-6-1. Carly Brooks led the scoring with four goals, followed closely by Ronnie Booth and Paige Hammerl who had three goals each. Mallory DeMott, Jessica Smude, and Emily Hedrix all scored twice while Smude tacked on two additional assists. Rounding out scoring was Nicole Blovet, with one goal, three assists, Rachel Cech, with one goal, and Ashley Dakki with one assist. Sophomore goaltender Beth Giguere made nine saves.
Lake Orion will host Region 4 MHSAA Girls? Lacrosse playoffs, beginning Thursday. They will play that day against Clarkston. Coaches Bill and Debbie Booth urge Orion residents to ‘come out and see girls? lacrosse played at its highest level.?
