Braving both M-24 and the cold rain, Oxford firefighter Carl Rose collected donations Sunday from motorists driving through downtown. Putting some cash in Rose’s boot is Oxford resident Barb Cullen. The money he and the other firefighters collected through their ‘Boot Drive? over the weekend will be used for the Dec. 14 ‘Shop with a Hero? event at the Oxford Meijer. This special event pairs local kids in need with firefighters, police officers and military personnel, who take them shopping for Christmas gifts for themselves and their families.
