The Varsity Girls Golf team lost its match last week to Hartland by a final score of 179-199.
The duel, which was played at Oxford Hills, was the team’s second of the season, dropping their overall record to 1-1. Oxford junior Beth Hubbard shot a 45, the best round by a Wildcat player, while teammates Kate Hubbard and Emily Jacobson each shot a round of 51.
The team will not play any matches this week because of the Easter vacation, but Coach Terry Kelly has everyone preparing for their next match, which will be the Flint Metro League tournament on April 20 at Sugarbush Golf Club in Davison.
‘It’s a tough course for the gals because it has some long carries over swamps and some really tight par threes,? said the coach. ‘I really don’t know how they (the girls) will respond.?
