The fifth annual Goodison Good Tyme and Curamus Terram 5K, 10K, and half-marathon races will take place on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007.
Come out to cheer the racers on and stop by the Paint Creek United Methodist Church to check out the treats at the bake sale. Don’t forget – it’s cider season – there are two local mills open to serve you.
Volunteers are still needed in many areas, including along the race routes to hand out water to runners and, at day’s end, for clean-up efforts — a perfect opportunity for scout troops and honor society students needing community service hours.
All volunteers will be provided with breakfast, lunch and a race shirt. Call (248)651-4440, ext. 216 to volunteer or for more information.
FREE activities scheduled at adjacent Bear Creek Nature Park include musical entertainment by Paint Creek Folklore Society; nature crafts by Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve; Oakland County Mobile Recreation’s climbing tower and obstacle course; Kooky Karly’s balloon sculptures and face painting; and a Michigan Geocaching workshop.
