GOODRICH- The Martian varsity basketball team fell to third in the Genesee Area Conference Red Division standing on Tuesday, Feb. 25, as they were defeated by the LakeVille Falcons 58-67.
Charlie Goetz was the points leader for the Martians with 25 points, 10 of then from the foul line. He also pulled down 12 rebounds for the game.
Kori Garman added eight points while Max Bell and Billy Bartley each put up seven.
The close loss was the Martians second in a week, as they were defeated on Friday, Feb. 21, 44-72, to Mt. Morris. Goetz led the team with 15 points.
The Martians took on Montrose at home to tie up regular season play on Friday, Feb. 28, however, no scores were available by press time.
Next up for the Martians is a district match-up against Richmond. Game time is slated for 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4. District games will be held at Goodrich High School.
