A 27-year-old Goodrich man will serve jail time and has been ordered to pay $20,870.43 in restitution after he participated in the thefts of numerous catalytic converters in Brandon Township.
Dannie Vernon Vore, Jr. was sentenced March 4 to 210 days in jail by Sixth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Shalina Kumar. He received credit for 41 days served.
According to police reports, Vore and Jason Brian Morgan, 23, of Clarkston, took converters from vehicles parked at area businesses including Solley’s, Master Rack, Randy Wise Ford, Hamilton’s, Papa Bella’s, Ortonville Transmission, and Waste Away.
The thefts began around August and ended after they were found stealing a catalytic converter from a park and ride lot in Independence Township in January.
Morgan was arrested in Flint last month by the Oakland County Fugitive Apprehension Team on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court.
He pleaded guilty on March 11 to larceny more than $1,000, less than $20,000, a charge of receiving and concealing stolen property, and habitual offender, third offense.
He will be sentenced at 1 p.m., March 25, in front of Kumar.
