The filing deadline to be listed on the November ballot as a candidate for the Goodrich School Board or the Goodrich Village Council is 4 p.m., July 26.
The Goodrich School Board has two seats up for election this year Tim Zirnhelt and Linda Jackson. Candidates can choose to file nominating petitions or they can pay a $100 non-refundable filing fee along with their Affidavit of Identity. Each seat is a six-year term that will begin Jan. 1, 2017 and end Dec. 31, 2023. Candidates must be registered voters resident in the Goodrich School District.
The Goodrich Village Council has three seats up for election, council members Pete Morey, Richard Horton and Shannon R. McCafferty. The candidates with the top two votes will each get four year terms, from Jan. 1, 2017-Dec. 31, 2021. The third highest votes will have a two year term, Jan. 1, 2017-Dec. 31, 2019.
To run for any of the council seats, candidates must be residents of the Village of Goodrich and obtain a minimum of six and maximum of 20 petition signatures of registered voters in the village.
