School is starting and it’s time to stock up on your Wildcat wear.
Although Tool Sport & Sign (1060 S. Lapeer Rd) sells clothes featuring the area, almost 65 percent of the school merchandise is Oxford wear.
They sell hats, sweatshirts, blankets, polos, backpacks, pajamas, shirts and more.
‘With each season of sports we get new merchandise in, but right now we have a new line of football clothing, new hats and soon we will have new sweatshirts,? said Darren Masterson, owner of Tool Sport & Sign.
To Masterson, it seems sweatshirts and pajamas are the most popular item during any sports season.
Creative Embroidery (10 E. Burdick) in downtown Oxford also sells plenty of Wildcat wear which accounts for 20 percent of the stores floor space. They have everything one would want to show off school spirit.
Like Tool Sport & Sign, Creative Embroidery’s best seller is sweatshirts and sweatpants.
‘The store gets very busy before school starts and the week of homecoming,? said Vicki Lubelan, owner of Creative Embroidery. ‘All I sell the week before homecoming is Oxford wear. Everyone wants to show their support for their team.?
Lubelan not only sells shirts, sweatpants, jackets, hats and bags featuring the Oxford Wildcat logo, but she also does team wear for the swim and volleyball teams, among others.
‘The coaches come to me to make their team clothing such as warm-up (attire). Right now I’m working on things for the football and cross country teams,? she said.
Lubelan also sells varsity jackets and guarantees that she has the lowest price in town.
‘I don’t make money off the jackets like I do the other things I sell, so I lower my prices in order for more people to be able to afford them,? she said.
