The wins haven’t come easy for the Lake Orion High School varsity wrestling team this season.
On Jan. 14, the Dragons hosted a tri-meet with Catholic Central and Waterford Mott High Schools. Lake Orion dropped to Mott, 48-27.
Lake Orion’s TJ DeGeorge defeated Joe Lawson 16-3 in the 125-pound match, while teammate Michael Carroll was the winner at 135, defeating Andrew Anthes, 18-2.
Robert Grupido took the 145-pound match for the Dragons, pinning Tim Foster in 1:28. At 152, Lake Orion’s Vinnie Carnarsa came out on top, defeating Anthony Hodges, 9-2.
Rocky Rocheleau won at 171 for the Dragons, defeating Adam Nuckolo, 12-4, while Lake Orion heavyweight Jesse Osborne claimed victory in the 215-pound match, pinning Anthony Greenan in 1:25.
On Jan. 18 Lake Orion traveled to to the East Detroit Tournament, and today the team hosts a quad meet against Rochester Adams, Rochester and Troy High Schools. Lake Orion will hit the road against Chippewa Valley High School on Saturday.
