Hadley Township’s new home

On Nov. 2, 1880, the Hadley Town Hall closed, but remained a staple in town for reunions, gatherings, events and outings.
However, on July 8, 2002, officials decided that after 122 years, and a 10 year idea, Hadley would have a Township Hall once again. The new building was designed by CHMP architectural firm out of Grand Blanc, and the lowest bid was accepted for $1,227,900. ERA Co. did the excavating, construction, and zoning for the building. The 7,000 square foot building was constructed on Pratt Road, 1/2 mile east of the village.
The bi-level building will house Hadley officials. The building’s amenities include a conference room, elevator, about 15 offices, updated technology and a meeting room that can seat up to 120 people. Township officials have worked out of their homes for years. Treasurer Lloyd Broecker feels this will be a great change for Hadley and make communication easier between residents and officials.
‘We are just really excited about it. It’s a beautiful building and it’s been a long time idea in the making. Demands over the years have showed and it’s an improvement for Hadley overall.?
