Lake Orion resident Alisa Harding finished the Special Olympics 2005 World Winter Games with a silver medal and sixth place in the snowshoe competition.
Harding, 18, returned home from Nagano, Japan, where the games were held, with a silver medal in the 50 meter race, and a sixth place finish in the 25 meter race.
She was one of seven Special Olympics athletes chosen to represent Michigan at the games.
The World Winter Games were held Feb. 26-March 5, and included competition in: Apline skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoe, speed skating, figure skating and floor hockey.
Michigan athletes took part in snowshoe, cross country skiing and alpine skiing.
