Residents weary of a downtown eyesore may get some relief soon.
Tom Sanford, village code enforcer, said the owner of the property at 8082 State Road, near the intersection of Hegel Road, will receive a blight notice.
Sanford said the house is not livable and over the last few years has been vandalized.
‘The copper was removed from the house,? said Sanford. ‘The house had been broken into and left open at one point, too. I realaize it’s impacting the property value of the homes in the area.?
Louie Khouri, owner of the property and a Detroit area resident, could not be reached for comment.
