Hot Tamale! Sagebrush is safe

Following the ongoing paperwork saga at the Sagebrush Cantina…
The Review has learned that the restaurant will not be closed and has indeed filed the needed paperwork in proper fashion.
Village Manager JoAnn Van Tassel said she hand-delivered paperwork to the township offices after she received it from Sagebrush owner Dia Zaraga.
“As far as I’m concerned, and the village is concerned, Mr. Zaraga did what he was supposed to do to have the Temporary Occupancy extended,” she said.

In sports, the Dragon hockey team is one win from a regional title after topping Port Huron Northern 4-1 on Thursday night in a pre-regional final.
Ken Klooster had a goal and an assist for Lake Orion (21-3-2), who will face Bay City Central (21-5) at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Suburban Ice in Macomb.
The Dragon volleyball squad will also be in action this weekend at Romeo High School in district action, beginning at 11 a.m.
The girls bowling team is at Sunnybrook Lanes for the individual and team state finals.
