Hunter says BHS soccer in good shape

Despite a loss in their season finale, Brandon boys soccer coach Nathan Hunter said the Blackhawks are heading into districts on a positive note.
‘Overall, I feel like we’re playing our best soccer of the year,? he said. ‘We’re peaking at the right time. We’re looking forward to districts and we’ll give it our best.?
Brandon lost a 2-1 contest to Fenton in their last regular season game Oct. 15. Chris Hunter scored the lone goal for the Blackhawks, who are now 6-10-2 overall and 4-7-1 in Flint Metro League play.
Hunter said the Blackhawks have worked hard to correct a couple of flaws in their play.
‘It seems like one or two defensive lapses cost us a couple of games,? he said. ‘Defensively, our guys are a lot stronger. Our mental preparation is also improved. We’re going to have a much better mental approach for districts.?
The Blackhawks opened district play with a Oct. 22 game against Swartz Creek at Brandon High School.
