(In response to, Litterbug, The Citzen, Aug. 21, page 10):
Dear Editor,
Our family is one of many that becomes very frustrated and angry when we see litter on the side of the road. We can’t believe that there are people, who could care so little about their surroundings and the environment, that they would simply throw their trash out the car window.
For well over a year, we have driven down Hurd Road and seen countless McDonald’s bags and cups strewn alongside the road. We read in last week’s ‘crime blotter? of a Hurd Road resident who took it upon himself to confront a woman that he had witnessed throwing a McDonald’s bag out of her car window.
We wanted to publicly thank that gentleman for his courageous actions. We feel that if there were more people like this out there, holding others accountable for their actions, that this world would be a much better (and cleaner) place.
