It’s all about the berries for Cranberries Cafe

Goodrich – An article in an upscale news restaurant publication has given Mitchell and Patricia Plant, owners of Cranberries Cafe in downtown Goodrich, some nationwide recognition.
Featured in the October issue of Nation’s Restaurant News, a news-weekly for the foodservice industry, the article, ‘Versatile and tart, cranberries play their part,? gave accolades to the restaurant for having up to a dozen cranberry theme items on their menu year-round.
A picture of one of their most popular dishes, Cranberry Wellington, poached chicken breasts with a blend of poached cranberries and cream cheese wrapped in phyllo dough, added a mouthwatering and colorful image to the article. The entire feature can be read at the publications website www.nrn.com.
‘We were very honored to be in this publication,? said Patricia Plant.
The noteworthy article isn’t the only reason the restaurant has to kick up their heels. It’s also time for their annual cranberry festival which will be celebrated all week from Nov. 12 to 17 with daily lunch and dinner specials. To honor the restaurant’s namesake, cranberry spinach salad, bread pudding, walnut chicken, tenderloin and margaritas will be served.
Plant said it’s important to her that her customers understand they serve food for every palate.
‘Our restaurant is in a nice and comfortable setting for family dining.
Customers can get anything from a burger and a beer to a steak entree,? said Plant.
She said they try to stay current with the latest food products and styles of cooking. Using fresh ingredients to create quality food is a priority, Plant adds.
