James Randolph Kelley, 75, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at his residence in Alger. Jim was born May 15, 1942 in Saltville, Virginia to the late Cornelius and Wilma (Hogston) Kelley. He married Elaine J. Follis in Clarkston on May 25, 1974. Jim was a very social person and as the family said, “he never met a stranger”. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. Jim was a great supporter to all his family and friends, he truly had a huge, big heart. He was always busy working on projects, not just little ones but huge ones. Jim owned and operated James Kelly Doorman, Inc. and was known by many as “The Doorman”. He also had a love for old muscle cars and Harley Davidsons. His biggest joy was being in the wind riding his Harley.
Jim is survived by his wife, Elaine and his 6 children; Wendy Nikolitch, Randolph Kelley, David (Valerie) Follis, Alan (Elvie) Follis, Pamela (David) McIntyre and Penny (William) Green. He was predeceased by one daughter; Cindy Dennison. He is also survived by 3 sisters and 2 brothers; Leota Smith, Ann Freeman, Raymond Kelley, William Kelley and Trixie Roeher. Jim was predeceased by 4 siblings; Robert Kelley, Jean Wilson, Joseph Kelley and Frank Kelley. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren & great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
According to Jim’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service Celebrating Jim’s life will be held at a later date in Ortonville, Michigan. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee Ramsay Funeral Home – STANDISH CHAPEL, Standish, Michigan.
