James Kollar Jr.

James Adam Kollar, Jr. of Groveland Township died Jan. 14, 2025.
He was 61.
Born on December 12, 1963 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. James was the son of the late James A. Kollar and Gertrude (Brown) Kollar. He was preceded in death by brother James Lyle Kollar and sister Margaret Posch (Joe). James is survived by Kathleen Flynn (Patrick), Pamela Kay Stepeck (John), Candice Kollar, Colleen Kollar, Kris Decker (Butch) and Wendy Lawhead (Justin). Three step brothers Larry, Scott and (the late) Jeffery Dietz. Also, a special uncle Grant Massey who created the “Jim Gym” to assist James.
James was supervisor of security and maintenance at K Farms, Bird Road for about 30 years along with William Prince and William Flanders. He was employed for many years at Mazza Auto Parts on M-15.
He also owned a home repair company and completed many jobs in the area. James loved cars and was the proud owner of a 1962 Thunderbird named “Gertie” after his mother. In addition, a 1966 Buick Wildcat.
James was baptized Catholic and attended Shrine Elementary School, Woodward Ave. and Howe Military School located in Indiana. A graduate of Royal Oak Small Engine Repair and Auto Shop.
A generous soul he’s known for making great beef and venison jerky along with pineapple upside down cakes, and pudding cakes.
He loved fishing with his second cousin Kevin Brinker and trips to Levering Mich for a visit.
James leaves behind his best friend Lance Gould his favorite fish “Clouse” and cat “Harlow.”
His sisters will carry on his legacy with love for the rest of their lives without a doubt for one second.
Celebration of Life is planned for the summer of 2025.
