A spaghetti dinner, bake sale, and silent auction to benefit the Jasso family is planned for 1-5 p.m., Dec. 19 at the Edna Burton Senior Center, 345 Ball St., Ortonville.
John Jasso has been in the intensive care unit at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak since Nov. 16. The 35-year-old was originally hospitalized for a kidney stone, but suffered a stroke and has had several complications since, resulting in him being placed on a ventilator. He has been improving, but has no medical insurance to cover the mounting medical bills.
Jasso is married to Sian Jasso, an employee at the Clarkston Brandon Community Credit Union, 4 South St., Ortonville. The couple have three sons, John, 11, Jacob, 8, and Joshua, 5.
Tickets for the benefit dinner are $5 for adults, $3 for children 5-12, and free for children 5 and under. To donate items for the silent auction or bake sale, contact Wendy Bell at 248-935-7328.
An account for the family has been established at the Clarkston Brandon Community Credit Union. Donations can be made at the Ortonville or Clarkston branches.
