Downtown Oxford was invaded Saturday by customers of the feminine persuasion as the quaint shopping district hosted the Girlfriends Walk event.
Between 150 and 200 ladies from all over the area strolled up and down Washington St., shopping for clothes, jewelry, antiques, wine, baked goods and other specialty items sold by the town’s eclectic mix of independent merchants.
As they shopped, the ladies enjoyed free beverages and food provided at participating stores.
‘It’s like ‘girls night out? only it’s during the day,? exclaimed Amy Hendricks, a resident of Arlington County, Virginia who’s originally from Oakland Township.
