Lady Dragons advance in districts

The girls’s varsity basketball team enjoyed a 57-41 win over Rochester Adams Tuesday night in the first round of districts.
The ladies exploded for 22 points in the second quarter building, a 29-9 half time lead.
In the end, Jackie Hood led the scoring with 15 points, Marisa Secontine scored 13, and Alexis Haan added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The team will face Rochester in the second round of districts, Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. at LOHS.
The girls ended their regular season with a 28-17 win over rival Clarkston. The Dragons played outstanding defense and controlled the ball on offense, according to Head Coach Steve Roberts.
Secontine led the scoring with 10 points and six rebounds, Haan scored points points and grabbed six rebounds, and Hood added five points and six rebounds.
The ladies finished their season with a 12-8 record.
Last week in regular play, Lady Dragons lost to Southfield Lathrup by the score of 50-48 on a Lathrup basket with 2.5 seconds remaining in the game.
Hood led the scoring with 13 points, Haan scored 10 points, and Maddi Gagen added nine.
