LaPaugh wins $500 grant for Kiwanis

Lew LaPaugh, of Lake Orion, has been awarded for the second year in a row the Agency Hands in the Community Award for his commitment to volunteering in the community with the Oxford-Orion Kiwanis Club.
The award includes a $500 grant from The Allstate Foundation for the Kiwanis. LaPaugh has been actively volunteering for the Kiwanis for six years.
The club supports children and young adults in the community, and evaluates both children’s issues and community needs on an ongoing basis, conducting service projects to respond to those needs.
LaPaugh serves as board member and vice president of the Oxford-Orion club. He is also a member of the state district board and chairs the major fundraising event of the year.
LaPaugh was also awarded Kiwanian of the Year in 2002.
LaPaugh was nominated for the Agency Hands in the Community Award by David Hewitt, market business consultant with Allstate Insurance Company.
‘The Agency Hands in the Community Award is just one way to recognize Allstate exclusive agents and exclusive financial specialists for their active involvement in the community,? Hewitt said.
‘Lew’s volunteer efforts clearly demonstrate a personal commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those that live in the Oxford and Lake Orion area.?
