When you entered the race for the state Legislature you promised the voters that you would work for the hard working and over taxed taxpayers.
Since being elected you have worked hard to reduce taxes on just one group of taxpayers at the expense of all others.
The group you worked hardest for was of course, the group you happen to belong to, the business owners.
You raised the taxes on all working taxpayers by raising the income tax levied.
You raised taxes on seniors living on a fixed income. Raising taxes wasn’t the only thing you did to hard working people.
You also worked hard to cut the wages and benefits for our police officers, firefighters and teachers ? all taxpayers.
When it was time to finally fix the roads your solution was to support a raise in sales tax and gas tax by almost the same amount that you cut the business tax. Eighty percent of the State’s voters disagreed with you.
Now, you are wasting taxpayer time needed to come up with a real solution to road problems by proposing legislation to raise the speed limit on highways and lowering it on dirt roads as a good idea.
While this is a great waste of time, your reasoning on the dirt road limit escapes me.
Why is it a good idea to lower it on dirt roads in areas where the population is a million or more and not in locations where the population is lower?
Hey Brad, we have paved roads that are not safe enough to drive 45 MPH; when will you address those?
This of course is a meaningless piece of legislation since the Legislature has reduced revenue to counties, and local police forces making enforcement of any laws on rural roadway almost non-existent.
It is time you get to work on real problems.
Your term is about up so you will probably just stall until it’s over. What if you want to run for another government post?
Let’s hope people won’t be fooled by you again.
