Letter to Editor:Thanks from Lake Orion Special Olympics

Dear Editor,
On behalf of the Lake Orion Special Olympics I would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to so many in our community. LOSO is 100% self-funded. Without this community support we couldn’t do what we do! LOSO currently has eight Special Olympics sports: bowling, soccer, basketball, track & field, swimming, poly hockey, snow shoeing and bocce. LOSO participates in state tournaments for soccer, snow shoeing, track & field and poly hockey. Next year we hope to send a bocce team to the State Summer Games too. LOSO’s other teams participate in local, district and regional tournaments. We would like to extend a special ‘Thank You? to Lake Orion Community Schools, Times Square Restaurant in Lake Orion, Chili’s in Auburn Hills, Parisian in Rochester Hills, Collier Lanes in Oxford Palazzo di Bocce in Lake Orion, Lake Orion High School Leadership and to all of the others that have donated funds to support this wonderful group of athletes in our community. Your support and efforts are truly appreciated!
I would also like to thank all of the volunteers, coaches (all of our coaches volunteer their time) and involved parents that help support our athletes all year long. You have all contributed to a very successful year for our LOSO athletes!
