Celebration of Life for Elwyn Dale
Dear Editor,
Thank you to the family and friends that attended the Celebration of Life for Elwyn Dale, our hero, our star (as we called him).
Thank you for sharing all your stories, memories and for all the kind words.
Thank you to Roy and Michele and the staff at Village Funeral Home, what a beautiful job they did. Especially since this was done at a different time than the death, because of COVID 19 and not at the funeral home.
Thank you to Mark at Papa Bella’s for getting us the salad we ordered, when we forgot to pick it up early. Thank you to Tom at Bueche’s in the meat department for finding a way to provide the ham we needed when the order didn’t come from the supplier.
Thank you to Fred Waybrant for assisting with the tree that was planted in the Tree Library at the Brandon Township Park. He was able to find a tree that will be special to us for the rest of our lives. It will be so beautiful in that park forever. Everyone, check out the Brandon Township Park on Hadley Road and look in the Tree Library for the tree, along with all the others, it’s marked, soft of reddish color. Elwyn Dale Saunders.
We are so fortunate to live in a small town where everyone cares about one another. Elwyn will be remembered by so many friends.
The family of Elwyn Dale Saunders
Flag Day
Dear Editor,
I would like to thank everyone for their overwhelming support and donations Saturday, June 12 to the VFW Post members at Bueche’s Food World distributing flags for a donation. The post was using that day to remind everyone that Flag Day was Monday, June 14. Because of your generosity we raised $1,800 that will be in the put back into the community through our 19 charities and programs that the VFW supports.
A special thank you to Christina and Mikie Neadow, Clear Water Campgrounds owners and Allison Reis Realtor for their $500 donation. Information on the VFW call Dennis at (248) 627-1065.
