Letters to the editor Sept. 14

Thank you Wojo’s
Dear Editor,
We would like to give a big thank you to Wojo’s for the beautiful flowers they donate every season for our downtown Ortonville planters. We get many compliments throughout the season.

They do it “legally”
Dear Editor
Most people don’t care what color their eyes, skin, or what “paint chip” they belong to. They do it “legally.”
If anything needs to be worked on is maybe the process in which they have to go through. I have a friend who works in a southern detention center and they take them on field trips, they eat good and are cared for. We cannot be a nation without a border.

Two letters,
two responses
Dear Editor
United States immigration law remains the most generous and compassionate oriented in the world.
God bless our border patrol agents and the men and women in ICE who do an extremely difficult job under the chaotic circumstances they currently find themselves in. We all read a variety of news sources on topics that concern us. It is indeed concerning that employers are subrogating wage and working condition laws and displacing American workers by doing so. Maybe the unions who allegedly represent their workers should be studying this further instead of advocating to bring more exploitable, foreign-born work in.
As for myself, I have been reading about human trafficking. So take a walk with me here. Border patrol sees thousands of children sent by their “loving parents” unaccompanied and vulnerable to kidnappers, rapists and traffickers. Parents provide their daughters with rape kits before they send them, knowing the hazards. DNA test revealed at many of the “accompanied” children aren’t related to their “mothers” or “fathers” at all. But let’s clutch our pearls about separating families which, by the way, is only so that true relationships can be proven, not at all unreasonable. It protects children in the long-run.
I’m sorry you find that hateful.
Now, as for rough and uncouth President Trump. The vulgarian is a fabulous president. Trump tweets. Obama took selfies. Personal style.
There. Two letters, two responses. Third letter too acid trippy for rebuttal.
Respectfully,
Tamara Itoney-Carden
