The Orion Township Public Library honored its adult volunteers with a luncheon during National Volunteer Week in April. The library recognized 35 adult volunteers: Shelia Adams, Karin Boegel, Carol Dammann, Don Dixon, Marie English, Sharon Evans, Steve Fishman, Ruth Freeman, Brunella Gallace, Patricia Gensley, Andrew Grusnick, Misty Grant-Phillips, Bob Hazzard, Irene Hengstebeck, Susan Hollo, Anne Kinch, Nora King, Sandy Kinley, Joan Koster, Marion Lagodna, Terry Larivee, Julie Linder, Therese Miller, Shirley Naffziger, Sireta Neighbors, Lori Nowicki, Madeline Peruski, Minu Rani, Stella Slimko, Kim Stinson, Tom Sudduth, Chrisi Turner, Robin Turner, Sowmya Venugopal, and Maredith Zaviski. Special recognition awards were distributed, and entertainment was provided by musicians Laura Potocki, Michelle Lewandowski, Michala Welch and Chrisina Anger, students from Lake Orion High School. A student volunteer party was held in May, honoring student volunteers with over 25 hours of service: Stephanie Avakian, Nancy Carcamo, Katie Hege, Linda Johnsen, Andrea Miller, Stephanie Miller, Brett Romanowski, Justin Schaudt, Christopher Verros, and Kayla Wakerly.
